Out of School Time Career Pathways
The Iowa Department of Education’s 21st Century Community Learning Center program was the recipient of funding from the US Department of Education to support the development of an Out of School Time Career Pathways program. Program goals include providing opportunities for high school aged youth to explore career pathways in partnership with local institutions of higher education, businesses, and other community partners. Youth participating in programming will be given an opportunity to work towards an apprenticeship, internship, certification, post-secondary credit, or even possible employment. Middle school aged youth will also be served with these funds in an effort to explore career interests, particularly in the STEM field.
